Covington Who's Who Selects Donna Jill Brewer as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
Donna Jill Brewer, Music Professor at Saint Mary of the Woods College, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.

Donna Jill Brewer knew by the age of 12 that she wanted to become a musician/teacher. Having dedicated her entire life to teaching others how to become professional musicians, she taught with the Vigo County School Corporation as an orchestra director teaching elementary, middle, and high school students how to play string instruments solo and in ensembles, both large and small. Once retiring from the public school district, she was given the opportunity to teach string instruments at Saint Mary of the Woods College as a music professor.
Having been given expert instruction over the years with all orchestral string instruments, Ms. Brewer is now able to pass on that knowledge and expertise to her students. With the aspiration of continuing to teach others how to play until the day she's passes, she has always given it all inside the four walls of her classrooms.
"I have been teaching for 60 years," Ms. Brewer said, "and I see no stopping until the day I die."
Ms. Brewer holds Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science at Indiana State University (ISU) and a Bachelors of Music Performance and Masters of Music Performance from Indiana University. She is also currently working toward her PhD from ISU. She is a member of American String Teachers, National Association for Music Education, Music Education National Conference, Indiana State School Music Association, and Sinfonetta Strings Trio, and is on the board of directors for the Terre Haute Children's Choir. Having been selected to conduct youth symphonies from all over the world, Ms. Brewer has received numerous national and international awards. Still a professional player, Ms. Brewer plays regularly with local symphonies and is in demand to play at various concerts. She has played professionally all of her life, including two major symphonies and one major recording studio.
