- Lexington, KY (1888PressRelease) May 22, 2013 - Diana Blaine Ratliff, President of Leadership Kentucky, Inc., has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Diana Blaine Ratliff's commitment to excellence in Non-Profit.
Diana Blaine Ratliff, who studied English at the University of Kentucky, entered the workforce as a legal secretary before getting into office management. After acquiring a position in non-profit, she has since been promoted from office manager to director of administration and director of development. Prior to working with her current not-for-profit organization, Leadership Kentucky, Inc., she worked at The Nature Conservancy as director of development and public relations and also at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, a historical museum, as director of marketing and public relations.
Since 2006, Ms. Ratliff has served as president of her current organization, managing and overseeing the implementation of their 2020 strategic plan and annually recruiting at least seventy highly qualified candidates for their core adult leadership program from across the state of Kentucky. Also responsible for managing and planning curriculum for seven, two-and-a-half day monthly experimental learning experiences that are focused on the critical issues and opportunities for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, she also manages and increases annual corporate and member contributions and financial stability and engages volunteer board members and others to move the organization forward.
Recognizing the importance of having great fundraising skills, planning and project management skills, and oral and written communication skills, Ms. Ratliff has dedicated much of her career to honing her expertise in non-profit. In the future, however, Ms. Ratliff would love to work for a private foundation that provides grants to non-profits, saying, "I've spent most of my career raising money in one way or the other and would love to be able to be a part of giving money away and assessing the outcome of those funded projects."
A current member of Kentucky Tourism Industry Association, Ms. Ratliff has served as chairman of Thoroughbred Theater, Inc. from 2010 to 2012 and current serves on the board of directors for Friends of Kentucky Educational TV. She is also the recipient of a 1997 Leading Women of Kentucky Award through The Lane Report and a 2010 Leading Women in Central Kentucky through Business Lexington.
