Gadd began working in her field in 1999 after graduating from the University of Florida. She started out by working for herself as a contracted speech pathologist before eventually deciding to open her own business in October of 2011.
As owner, Gadd manages a staff of nine, providing education opportunities to further her team's abilities to maintain credentialing, making all financial decisions, planning day to day schedules for her staff, evaluating and treating clients, and consulting with families. Previously, she worked as a preschool and kindergarten teacher, beginning in 1979, before becoming interested in her current line of work.
"It is important to have a work environment that facilitates the desire for the team to provide quality therapy," Gadd said about her organization. "It is a personal goal of mine to make sure that team members feel safe and valued so that they can concentrate on their job rather than being distracted by worries from either inside or outside the clinic."
Crediting a good education, experience in a variety of settings in her field, as well as inspiration from her late husband, Gadd has earned the confidence in the field that is necessary to be a successful pathologist and owner. She hopes to grow her business into an entity that can take care of numerous needs of patients, in addition to speech. Currently, she offers occupational, physical, and speech therapy, along with learning disability specialists. She hopes to take on more professional employees to include massage therapists, cranial sacral therapists, and neuropsychological evaluators. She also hopes to do consulting work in her field. Gadd is a current member of American Speech and Hearing Association, since 1999.
