Deborah A. Frascatore, Director of Clinical Reimbursement for Landmark Health Solutions, has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Deborah A. Frascatore's commitment to excellence in Healthcare.
- Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) September 07, 2013 - Deborah A. Frascatore, who holds a Bachelor's of Nursing Degree from St. Joseph's College, began her career in 1980 on the medical surgical floor in a local community hospital. She found her way to the surgical ICU at a Boston teaching hospital working with the open heart patients and by 1987 began working as an assistant director of nurses for a long-term care facility. After discovering that nurses weren't well versed in the education or financial aspects of healthcare, and after becoming the director of nurses, she wanted to be able to provide that training to nurses and certified nursing assistants. This knowledge empowered them so they could understand the relationship between regulations and finances, how it they affected their daily jobs, and helped increase their morale and confidence in decision making.
Now the director of clinical reimbursement with Landmark Health Solutions, Ms. Frascatore is primarily responsible for assessment, oversight, education, and implementation of programs and services relating to the Medicare PPS Program, Medicaid CMI Programs, Managed Care Case Management, Case Mix Reimbursement, oversees the company's policies, procedures, programs and practices related to reimbursement, managed care case management, financial analysis and data trending, Medicare denial of payment/audits, consolidated billing, ICD 9 coding, the MDS functions and processes for skilled nursing facilities, plus a host of other day to day tasks.
"My business knowledge skills in directing, training, mentoring, and organization, combined with my regulatory knowledge of federal and state reimbursement rules and ever changing regulations for Medicare and Medicaid compliance, allow me the ability to educate various levels of staff to comply with multiple regulatory standards and apply those standards to their daily activities," Ms. Frascatore said, who is a registered nurse and is certified in gerontological nursing with over twenty years of experience.
Inspired by her religious background that taught her sacrifice, compassion, and persistence, and as her ailing mother moved through the continuum of long-term care, Ms. Frascatore wanted to inspire a different type of care for elderly and special needs patients. Her late husband also taught her that people are the ones that make a difference and he would stop at nothing to make a positive impact on another person's life.
"His fierceness, sacrifice, and bravery continue to inspire me every day to make a positive impact in every person's life I come in contact with, even if only for a moment," Ms. Frascatore said.
Constantly challenged to remain up to date on the ever changing reimbursement and regulatory issues and policy changes in healthcare, Ms. Frascatore hopes to have an effect participating in and in the development of new policies and regulations as she transitions into the new phase of healthcare reform in the US.
Ms. Frascatore is a member of American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators, American Nurses Credentialing Center, Toastmasters, Buick Club of America, and National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.
