Covington Who's Who Selects David Johns as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) November 09, 2012 - David Johns, Vice-President of Administration for Premier Pawn and Jewelry Store, has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Johns, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance through Mississippi State University, began working in the field for Sears in human resources management in 1964. For the next twenty years, he held numerous positions in human resources.
In his current role, Johns focuses on the identification and selection of talent to staff the new company's stores, which is headquartered in Maitland, Florida. He handles all legislative and legal issues associated with the business, completes talent selection and evaluates consulting assignments, assists Pawnshop Consulting Group as a presenter at approximately six nationwide conferences annually. He also authors handbooks and training manuals and programs for various companies through services offered by PCG.
Crediting many years of experience to his success in the business, Johns also credits the Thurstone Temperament Schedule (TTS), a system he learned during his time with Sears which helps him effectively evaluate talent.
"Throughout my career in talent selection and management, I have been a driving force behind the success of senior management for many companies after I left Sears," Johns explained. "My professional focus for decades has been all about selecting the right people for the right tasks."
Johns is currently writing his first book, which will address the critical but easy to understand process of identifying, selecting, and managing talent to ensure top performance in any organizational entity. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the National Pawnbrokers Association and is a member of the Governmental Affairs Committee for that organization. He was the ghost writer for a recently published book titled Smart Moves Management authored by John Thedford.
