- Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2012 - Cynthia L. Haltom, Owner of Mother Nature's One of a Kind Art, has been selected as a Featured Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Cynthia L. Haltom's commitment to excellence in The Arts.
Founded in 1997, Mother Nature's One of a Kind Art sells hand-made, abstract woodwork art, produced by Haltom herself, her lifelong partner Robert Burrell, as well as several other artists.
Having grown up in a household inspired by art (Haltom's father was a painter, her mother, a musician), Haltom was inspired to start her business after a serious injury left her learning how to walk again. Her partner's dedication to help her recovery, and begin the new business, along with her new business, helped her both physically and mentally gain the strength to push forward.
"I became interested in something that would help me through my crisis because it completely changed my life," Haltom explained. "I have spent many years developing the kind of art that I produce today."
Haltom is also a published writer. She authored her first children's book in 2012, 'Introduction to Deputy Dawg and Miss Kitty in the Valley of Cattong, through Dorrance Publishing as well as a poetry book, 'Collection of Poetry', which contains poems all related to her personal life and subsequent injuries and the children in her life. She has been writing since the age of fourteen, has written hundreds of poems, and published five songs. Haltom is currently working on a mystery book and a book about HMO's. Her artwork and books can be purchased at Dorrance Publishing Book Store, through her website on Facebook, and the Coffee House in Darrington, Washington, where her handmade art is also displayed.
Holding both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Religious Education, Haltom has been named Poet of the Year through the International Society of Poetry in 2008 and 2009.
