Covington Who's Who Selects Colonel Rodney Mason as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Albuquerque, NM (1888PressRelease) October 29, 2012 - Colonel Rodney Mason, United States Air Force Chief of Weapons Safety, Air Force Safety Center, Kirtland Air Force Base, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Mason joined the US Air Force in 1988 and has served in a variety of aircraft maintenance and munitions positions. He's been a squadron and detachment commander and deployed in support of Operations Desert Storm and Southern Watch during his twenty-five year career. He currently directs Air Force weapons and testing programs, approves safety certification of new weapons, weapons systems, and explosive storage site plans. As part of his duties, he chairs Air Force-level boards charged with certifying the safety of weapons systems and partners with the Department of Defense, Navy, and Army on weapons safety programs.
"I credit my faith and belief that I am doing what God wants for me," Mason said in regards to his personal motivation for joining the Air Force. "I also have a strong desire to make a change and impact the way the Air Force does its mission."
Hoping to retire from the Air Force within the next two to five years, Mason plans to work in a civilian job related to government service in order to continue to support the nation in another capacity.
Mason is the recipient of the Air Combat Command Lieutenant General Leo Marquez Award for outstanding leadership and the Major General Saunders Chapter Distinguished Service Award for leadership and advancement of logistics.
