Covington Who's Who Selects Clive John Smith as an Executive of the Year Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

The selection recognizes Clive John Smith's commitment to excellence in Automotive Design and Manufacturing.
Clive John Smith, who holds a Bachelor's in Business Studies with honors from the University of Central Lancashire, and a Master's in International Business, both from the University of Central Lancashire, began working in 1979 with a four-year engineering apprenticeship.
Now the regional quality director for the Americas (North and South), Mr. Smith works on global automotive projects for the Emission Control Division of Bosal. This position allows him to work in the international business environment with diverse, multi-cultural teams from their customers and suppliers and all levels and functions within the organization.
Specializing in product design and manufacturing engineering to help identify optimized designs for product and process', it is Mr. Smith's responsibility to ensure that waste is eliminated and the company yield the most possible from any given product.
"I enjoy working with people, communicating, and finding solutions to complex problems, which is a perfect fit for the industry and profession that I am in," Mr. Smith said.
Having spent more than thirty years with his current company, Mr. Smith hopes to soon find a position in global quality or operations.
The certified six sigma black belt has earned numerous awards throughout his career, including a GM Supplier Excellence Award in 2012 and a Toyota Gold Award, also in 2012.
Married for twenty-seven years, Mr. Smith also enjoys volunteering his time and has contributed to charity work by playing an active role on the board of his local Habitat for Humanity, YMCA, and community theatre. He's also worked on an overseas mission projects building and repairing homes for people in need.
