Covington Who's Who Selects Cemlyn D. Larsen as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Larsen, Librarian Associate at Crawford Library, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Cemlyn D. Larsen's commitment to excellence in Education and Library Services.
Cemlyn D. Larsen, who was born and raised in Minnesota, moved to Alaska in 1981 after earning her BA Degree in Ethnomusicology cum laude from Bethel College.
Larsen worked for a sporting goods store for a year in Alaska before taking a position with the United States Postal Service that would span fourteen years. After retirement, she began working with the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District as a substitute teacher which eventually led to her current position as a librarian associate. She also volunteered with a local Lion's Club and area schools, worked in afterschool grant programs, and even taught a junior and senior high school choir class for a year. Larsen taught private piano and voice lessons, composed music, and was a member of a local piano teachers association. She also spent over thirty-five years as a church pianist in local churches in both Minnesota and Alaska.
"Helping students find books they enjoy and seeing them excited about reading makes my job a pleasure," Larsen said.
Currently in her fifth year with Crawford Elementary School, Larsen runs the school's reading program and is in charge of the annual family reading night. When she isn't busy working, she is involved with her community as an active member of a local shooter's club and team member of the Sozo Ministry. She also enjoys reading, cross-stitch, gardening, camping, hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with her family.
