Covington Who's Who Selects Carlina Jones Hicks as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Studying business trends for several years while employed with the University of Phoenix, Carlina Jones Hicks very much wanted to start her own business. In April 2015, she took a leap of faith and founded Joneshicks Travel Agency, dba Paycation Travel.
Mrs. Hick's main priority is in reaching out to people in the Chattanooga community to travel to places like Jamaica, Africa, Mexico, and other beautiful vacation destinations. Booking discounted travel to individuals all over the world, Mrs. Hicks' also providing aspiring entrepreneurs the ability to start their own business for as little as $150, while recruiting other aspiring business owners to join the company by way of mentoring and coaching.
"We, as a community, get so caught up in the everyday life of taking care of the home and others, and working that we neglect ourselves," Mrs. Hicks said about why vacation is so important. "I encourage my community to reach out to us and create a plan for a healthier lifestyle and possibly own their own business to incorporating affordable travel along with creating travel as a second source of income as well."
Giving thanks to The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga for helping her in her professional growth and success by teaching her how to give back to the local citizens in areas of social and civil engagements, Mrs. Hicks says it was their organization that empowered her to do more and dream big. She also credits her husband, David, and their children for motivating her to pursue her dreams.
Holding her BS in Health and Wellness Management from Southern Adventist University, Mrs. Hicks is now pursuing her Master's in Education with a Minor in Adult Learning at the University of Phoenix. She is licensed through the state of Tennessee in Business and is a Licensed Travel Agent. A member of several organizations, including the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga and National Association of Professional Women, Mrs. Hicks earned numerous accolades throughout her career and during her seven years working at the University of Phoenix, including several top performer awards.
