Covington Who's Who Selects Brittany Washington as a Professional Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
Brittany Washington, Forensic Accountant with Ernst and Young, has been selected as a Professional of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Brittany Washington's commitment to excellence in Accounting and Financial Services.
- Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) March 26, 2014 - Brittany Washington, who holds both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Houston in 2008 and 2009 respectively, is licensed in real estate and is a certified anti-money laundering specialist, certified public accountant, and certified fraud examiner, all through the state of Texas. While still in college, she had the privilege of working three internships at Ernst & Young (EY) before officially entering the work force in September 2009.
Now a senior 3 advisor of the Houston team of EY's Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services practice, Ms. Washington specializes in forensic accounting, fraud and investigations, dispute services, insurance claims, fraud risk and investigations, anti-fraud services, government contracts, and corporate compliance.
"My original career choice was to be a lawyer," Ms. Washington said, who now has over five years of experience in her current field. "But I wanted to diversify myself from others and be more of a well-rounded individual, increasing my knowledge in different aspects of business. In that light I decided to pursue my accounting degree and specialize in forensics, combining both my passions of law and accounting together."
With strong hopes of continuing to work for her great company, Ms. Washington hopes to someday make partner with EY. She also desires to own her own real estate company selling multimillion-dollar homes and eventually expand into the commercial arena that owns multiple apartment and hotel chains.
Ms. Washington is a current member of Young Professionals League, CPA Association, Certified Fraud Examiners Association, and National Association of Black Accountants.
