Brian Daniel Starr, President of Starr Books, has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of Covington Who's Who. The selection recognizes Brian Daniel Starr's commitment to excellence in Publishing.
- Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) December 04, 2013 - Brian Daniel Starr, who holds a BS in Electronic Engineering from Thomas Edison State College, is a certified level III technician through ISA who first got into genealogy in 2000, using his knowledge in engineering to solve genealogy problems. By 2005, Mr. Starr had written his first book, by 2010 he had joined Mensa, and with the success of his engineering career he had progressed into more book writing and had developed an even greater passion into religion of genealogy.
Now the owner of Starr Books, Mr. Starr writes and sells his books while also juggling a full-time career as an engineer with StarrCAE or by subcontracting as a consultant.
"My success is based on two ideas," Mr. Starr said. "Hard work and perseverance are omnipotent. If the saw is dull, then sharpen it. I use common sense."
Mr. Starr's inspiration for genealogy research came from his grandfather's research and the need to know things about how the past contributed to today's society. He contributes some of his success to joining professionals societies such as International Society of Automation and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and also believes that his good fortune in business is also due to building slowly and by taking limited risks.
Hoping to break past the syndication in the book business and achieve more recognition in the industry with much more sales distribution, Mr. Starr is also excited about future cutting-edge engineering projects.
Currently a member of the American and International Mensa, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, International Society of the Descendants of Charlemagne, First Families of America, General Society of Colonial Wars, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, General Society of Mayflower Descendants, The Sons of the American Revolution, Knights of Columbus Council, as a charter member of the Father John B. Paro Council and Order of Pirates and Privateers, and as a lifetime member of the Founders of Hartford, Mr. Starr has held numerous board positions in the past as well.
