Brenda White Tyson has spent numerous years pursuing several degrees in her field, including an AAS in Office Systems Technology from Pitt Community College, a BS in Business Administration from Shaw University, and two Master's Degrees, one in Business Administration and one in Health Services Administration, both from Strayer University.
Currently juggling two careers, one as an administrative assistant with Teel's Enterprise and also as a certified nursing assistant with Home Life Care, Inc., both positions came after her decision to move back home to care for her elderly parents. She's previously worked for a number of reputable organizations throughout her career, including the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Amtrak, and North Carolina State University.
It wasn't until after working in government and the private sector for twenty-five years, Ms. Tyson decided to pursue her degrees. She earned a nursing certification for CNA1 in 2010 and her medication aid certification in 2012. She's also a notary public for the state of North Carolina.
"I have always made an extra effort to stay abreast and keep up with technology and systems process, improve my existing skills, take on new challenges in my current position and projects, and volunteer for short-term assignments," Ms. Tyson said about her career. "I've also always been one to take advantage of in-house, on-the-job training when possible."
With aspirations to continue climbing the corporate latter, Ms. Tyson's main focus is always on job security, the ability to add more and more expertise to her respected fields, and most importantly, finding and maintaining balance between life and work.
Ms. Tyson is currently a member with National Association of Professional Woman. She's also a recipient of numerous awards during her college years, as well as a Recognition Award through Graham Rudman Hollings Bill for Past Chairman Paul A. Volcker, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
