The selection recognizes Brenda Walker's commitment to excellence in Service Rehabilitation and Education.
Brenda Walker, who holds a BS in Physical Therapy and MA in Education, both from New York University and an MEd as Developmental Specialist for Infants and Toddlers from Yeshiva University, is a licensed physical therapist, certified senior disability analyst, and certified K-12 special education teacher with over forty years of experience. Beginning her career at the renowned Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation in New York City, she started out doing regular rehabilitation work with adults and children, but quickly branched out to pediatric rehab therapy, which later evolved into a pediatric specialty in rehabilitation and then special education.
Now working primarily with children suffering from balance and coordination problems, Ms. Walker is specialized to work with infants and toddlers. With the job demand and opportunities, she has expanded to also work with older children as well.
Hoping to complete her doctorate degree from Walden University very soon, Ms. Walker hopes to do assessments and consultations for special needs children. She is a current and active member with the National Association for Special Education Teachers and the American Board of Disability Analysts.
