Armando Hermosilla began his career after college in marketing in 2004 but quickly learned that his true passion was not being utilized. After leaving his home country of Spain in 2010, he started working toward his MFA in Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, graduating in the top three of his class in 2012.
Since graduation, Hermosilla has worked on different projects and in different positions in the entertainment industry. He worked as a production assistant, director's assistant, second assistant director, and also as a writer, director, and producer for a low budget music video. He has since been working diligently to prove himself to the entertainment business and has several other projects coming up, including music videos, a short film, and feature movie.
"Step by step I am getting where I always wanted to be," Hermosilla said proudly, "as a writer, a director, and a producer."
Knowing the importance of believing in what you are doing, Hermosilla also acknowledges the amount of passion one must possess in order to make it in this industry.
Hermosilla has earned numerous awards while in college, including a Best Student Film Award for 'Vena Amoris' from Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood in 2012 and a Diamond Award, also for 'Vena Amoris', from California Film Awards in 2013. He's been screened at International Film Festival of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles and at Arpa International FilmFestival in Los Angeles, and will be screened at Dam Shorts Film Festival on February 7, 2013 in Nevada and also at SF IndieFest on February 14 and February 16, 2013 in San Francisco.
