Covington Who's Who Selects April M. Moore as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) December 31, 2014 - April M. Moore, Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Corona-Norco Unified School District, has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Beginning her career 16 years ago, April M. Moore first taught as a high school English teacher, then became a county office administrator, and later returned to the school site as an assistant principal, district coordinator, and high school principal. Pleased to return to the district office at the beginning of the 2014-15 academic school year, Ms. Moore is now the director of curriculum and instruction for Corona-Norco Unified School District.
As director, Ms. Moore specializes in secondary education, especially in assisting staff, teachers, parents, and the community in preparing students for life after high school in college and career. She oversees educational technology initiatives, including their digital badge initiative, in which they issue digital badges to students for a variety of achievements. Badges serve to motivate students and guide them into their future.
"Along with an excellent team of professionals, I am happy to make a difference in the lives of our younger generation," Ms. Moore said. "Each step in my career I have followed a passion. From loving literature and writing to working at the county office of education, each stage brought new challenges and opportunities to learn and continue making a difference in the education of students in my community."
Ms. Moore hopes to enjoy a great future in educational leadership opportunities as they become available, in particular the roles of an assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction and superintendent are of interest to her. Ms. Moore currently holds a BA in English from Vanguard University, an MEd from Chapman University, and an Ed.D. from the University of Southern California. She is a member of the Association of California School Administrators and American Association of School Administrators. She is also an executive board member of California Coalition of Early and Middle Colleges.
