Covington Who's Who Selects Angela Reisler as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Baltimore, MD (1888PressRelease) August 18, 2015 - Angela Reisler, National Board Certified Lead Support Teacher Specialist with Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS), has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Born into a family with five generations of teachers, Angela Reisler knew that she would follow in the footsteps of her mother and all the women before her. Beginning her career as a music teacher in Anne Arundel County Public Schools, she received National Board Certification for K-12 Music in 2004, the highest teaching credential in the nation. Soon after, she became a Music Resource Teacher for AACPS, supporting new and veteran music teachers, planned and presented professional development, wrote curriculum, supported other teachers pursuing National Board Certification, and worked as a Candidate Support Provider (cohort leader).
Now a National Board Certification Lead Support Teacher Specialist, Ms. Reisler plans, supports, and oversees the entire National Board Certified Support Program for the AACPS. She manages budget and stipend pay for cohort leaders for initial candidacy, advanced candidacy, and renewal candidacy, and delivers recruitment presentations to executive staff, area directors, principals, faculties, and teacher groups throughout the county. Ms. Reisler also trains, leads, and supervises 30 candidate support providers, creates and delivers professional development for NBC candidates, as well as candidate support providers. Additionally, she serves AACPS Human Resources as a hiring specialist for music/art/dance where she reviews applications, interviews applicants, and interacts to serve curriculum coordinators, principals, and applicants.
"It is my goal to continue to increase the number of National Board Certified Teachers in Anne Arundel County Public Schools," Ms. Reisler said. "By doing so in the country, we will positively impact student learning and achievement."
Ms. Reisler is also an adjunct faculty member with National University's Master of Arts in Teaching where she instructs adult students both in the classroom and online.
Holding a BS in Music Education from the University of Maryland at College Park and an MEd in Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction from Walden University, Ms. Reisler is an active member of National Board Certified Network, Maryland Education Association, and National Association for Music Educators.
