Covington Who's Who Selects Alicia North as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

The selection recognizes Alicia North's commitment to excellence in Payroll and Accounting.
Alicia North, who has over ten years experience in her current field, began her career in 1992 with the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia. After giving her the opportunity to work as an accounting clerk after first working as a PBX operator, she quickly moved up in the department, from accounts receivable clerk to credit manager before moving to Texas.
Now working at the Carnegie Institution of Science, Ms. North oversees the process of semi and monthly payroll for approximately five-hundred-fifty employees, including non-resident aliens. This includes entering human resources data and taxes and also reconciling the payroll/leave balances on a monthly basis for all of the Institution's departments.
Giving credit to her former director of payroll for mentoring Ms. North in the field of accounting, she also continues to attend payroll seminars and trainings to stay abreast of current payroll procedures and laws.
"My parents inspired me to work hard and to always strive to do my best," Ms. North also stated. "It's also important to love the job that you do."
With the anticipation of becoming certified in payroll with a CPP and to become a director of payroll herself someday in the future, Ms. North would love to work in a management capacity and also become a mentor in her field.
Ms. North is an active member with American Payroll Association. She's also earned numerous Employee of the Month awards throughout her career.
