The BALI awards are given out yearly by the British Association of Landscape Industries and are held to "recognise BALI members who have demonstrated exceptionally high standards of professionalism and skill in the execution of a wide variety of landscaped schemes."

These awards have been handed out going on now close to 40 years and are recognized all over the United Kingdom to mean outstanding work in the fields of hard landscaping, grounds maintenance, design excellence, green design innovation and domestic garden construction.

In 2012, Country Grounds Maintenance Group won the BALI award for the Leonards Street Play Area in local Norwich. This park was originally just a run down never used patch of grass on a side street in Norwich until the local city council voted to spend the time upgrading the area so that it could become a place for community gatherings for children to play, pet owners to walk their dogs and families to relax.

Of all of the Gardeners Norwich City Council spoke with regarding the upgrade of this are CGM Group was able to prove they had the best vision for the Leonards Street Play Area and the complexities that were involved. The play area required a variety of techniques to be used during the construction process including things like turfing, brickwork, a boardwalk, resin bonded surfaces, and seeding.

Each of these techniques combined together were able to be combined into a play area that includes playground equipment an amphitheater and fencing. Both the City Council and the residents of Norwich have been able to really enjoy the area.

In addition to this project, the Country Grounds Maintenance Group provides customers with a wide variety of services for domestic areas as well as city and government land tracks, including highways and sports fields also. For domestic customers, CMG Group specializes in garden design and maintenance, and also features high quality work in hedge maintenance and arboricultural advice.

Country Grounds Maintenance Group also has worked with the community on projects beyond the Leonards Street Play Area. They work to sponsor local events in order to not only promote their work but give the areas residents some enjoyment as well.
