Cosworth appoints key industry experts to management team
Cosworth set for strong revenue growth this year as new recruits bolster management team.
- (1888PressRelease) October 26, 2010 - LONDON - Cosworth has added two new recruits to its management team as the company announces it is on track for a substantial increase in revenue for 2010.
Chief Executive Officer Tim Routsis said Cosworth's growth strategy, which centres on applying the group's state of the art technologies to the aerospace, defence, marine and energy industries, was delivering results.
"We are on track for increased revenues this year and have an order book that promises an excellent 2011 and beyond.
"It can't be denied that this is an impressive performance in the middle of a major worldwide recession and I believe Cosworth is a robust example of the quality that can be delivered by UK engineering and manufacturing.
As Cosworth continues on its growth strategy, the company has recruited two key industry experts to join the management team.
David Robottom has joined Cosworth as Managing Director for UK and Europe bringing with him more than three decades of experience in the energy business.
Mr Robottom has expertise in creating business development strategies, negotiating commercial agreements and managing multi-disciplinary international joint-venture projects.
He joins Cosworth at a time when his management skills and international experience - including work in Nigeria, Kazakhstan and the North Sea - will assist in the group's plans to expand its customer-base across both industrial sector and geographical region.
At the end of his first week on the job, Mr Robottom said his initial impression was of a well-run company with highly professional engineering staff doing a really interesting job.
"The next few years are going to see some very exciting times for Cosworth and I am already proud to be part of the fantastic team that will lead the company to further growth.
"A motivated management team with fresh ideas is key to every business and I have the utmost confidence in the people we have in place to see Cosworth's plans for the future delivered."
Aerospace and defence are key growth areas for Cosworth, and Andrew Manahan has joined the team to head up this section of the business.
Mr Manahan has spent his career working in manufacturing in the defence sector and holds degrees in economics and mathematical science.
Mr Manahan's previous experience has given him invaluable industry insight which will hold him in good stead as he joins Cosworth's management team and helps contribute to the diversification and growth of one of the leaders in high performance engineering.
"Cosworth's aerospace and defence sectors are already well established within their markets, however 2011 is set to see this side of the business become a bigger part of the overall Cosworth brand," Mr Manahan said.
