Cosimo Announces New Imprint Venture with Transitions Online
Cosimo, Inc. has launched a new imprint which allows institutions, organizations, and companies to publish their books without the hassle of self publishing or trade publisher regulations.
- (1888PressRelease) September 15, 2011 - Cosimo,Inc. a New York based specialty publisher, is pleased to announce that its services unit CosimoB2B has set up a new publishing imprint for Transitions, a Prague-based nonprofit organization dedicated to improve journalism and news media in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
CosimoB2B offers publishing services to organizations, such as Transitions and also research institutes, think tanks, magazines and other institutions interested in setting up their own publishing company without having all the technical know-how or manpower in-house. CosimoB2B acts as the production, distribution and marketing arm of the imprint, while taking advantage of its experience with on-demand print technology and its expertise in designing and publishing books.
"Today's publishing environment for organizations is no longer limited to dealing with traditional publishers which often have confining publishing requirements or self-publishing which could take substantial investments in staff and time. CosimoB2B leverages its publishing expertise, and offers organizations an opportunity to publish their content effectively." said Alexander Dake, CEO and Publisher, Cosimo, Inc. " We are proud to work with Transitions in bringing their valuable content to audiences around the world."
The first book to be published by the Transitions imprint is Classroom Struggles: Education Reporting and Analysis from Transitions. Classroom Struggles is a collection of news and feature articles written by young journalists in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Russia. The articles expose the political and socio-cultural roadblocks education faces in those regions. This book is an ideal start for this new imprint venture as it fits closely with Cosimo's ideals of informing and engaging readers about important current events and issues.
As Executive Director and Editor in Chief Jeremy Druker states in his preface of Classroom Struggles: "There can never be enough quality reporting on education, and we are proud to have provided support to a growing group of journalists who feel the same way."
