Correlated Magnetics Research Joins Forces with Silicon Valley Leader
Andy Keane chosen as CEO for the world's only programmable magnet technology company.
- Huntsville, AL (1888PressRelease) August 21, 2013 - Correlated Magnetics Research (CMR) today announces the appointment of Andy Keane as the award-winning company's new CEO, president and member of the board of directors effective Sept. 12, 2013. Keane brings proven leadership success with multiple Silicon Valley companies to Huntsville-based CMR.
Keane's experience includes driving growth of the new Tesla business at computer-graphics giant NVIDIA Corporation and, most recently, guiding the technology and market development of audio technology leader Audience, Inc., of Mountain View, Calif. CMR's new CEO was instrumental in the development of 3Dfx Interactive and Quantum Effect Devices leading to initial public offerings (IPOs) of both companies. Keane's proven track record in technology startups brings a timely and unique insight that will drive the global adoption of CMR's innovations in magnetics.
CMR's co-founder and founding CEO, Larry Fullerton, is the company's chief scientist and the inventor of correlated magnetics. This totally new method of combining correlation methods and coding theory with new magnet manufacturing technology will enable products not possible with current state-of-the-art magnetics.
"As co-founder and chief executive of CMR since its inception, I am very pleased to welcome Andy to take the helm at this point in our development. His experience and technology business leadership will fit perfectly with CMR growth plans, and free me to focus on the science behind correlated magnetics and the extensive research and development opportunity before us. Andy's talent and experience will take CMR to the next level," Fullerton said.
With an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and 18 years of experience leading fast-growth Bay Area companies, Keane will lead CMR through this exciting growth phase of the new technology. CMR holds more than 80 patents in the area of correlated magnetics and the company will leverage Keane's leadership to put new magnetics technology into the hands of product designers and innovators across global industries.
"I am honored to join a company that is poised to fundamentally revolutionize an entire field of science and engineering. Larry Fullerton's inventions have touched many industries and his latest innovations in coded magnets will likely impact everything from high-efficiency automobiles to new ways of generating energy to consumer products with dramatically new capabilities", said Keane. "CMR is a unique opportunity, and I am excited to join the management team as we build CMR into the leader in advanced magnetics."
Programmable magnet technology has been awarded the Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Award, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Top 7 Innovations and the TechConnect Innovation Award, and Larry Fullerton is included in Fast Company's Top 100 People in Business. In May, CMR met with President Obama during his visit to CMR's satellite office in Austin, Texas during the Jobs & Opportunity White House Tour. The revolutionary technology, invented by Larry Fullerton and developed at CMR, is poised to impact major industries including aerospace, automotive, biomedical, construction, defense, electronics, manufacturing, robotics, security, telecom and more.
