Coral Springs' annual art extravaganza returns this spring for it's 7th anniversary, March 19 - 20, 2011. The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts, a celebration of the arts and culture, will once again transform The Walk on University Drive into a first class outdoor art gallery. Hosted by the Coral Springs Festival Committee, Inc., and the city of Coral Springs and produced by the country's top festival promoter, Howard Alan Events, this two-day fair has become a tradition complete with a fine art show, contemporary craft festival, theatrical performances, literary workshops, a children's area, a Green Market and a full line-up of live music. Admission is free and open to the public.
"The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts, now in its sixth year, was a great success last year having attracted more than 40,000 art lovers," said Shirley Richards, Coral Springs Festival of the Arts' president. "We look forward to another strong year for Coral Springs' signature weekend of art, crafts, live music and performing and literary arts." LAST YEAR'S QUOTE
A wide variety of original and unique art created by the country's leading artists and crafters will be on display and available for sale. The fine arts festival portion of the show will be located on the south side of The Walk while the arts and crafts portion will be located on the north side of the The Walk. The artists and crafters, juried by an independent panel of expert judges, and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity, will be present for the duration of the festival. The artistic media represented include paintings, life size sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics as well as a full spectrum of crafts.
"We are thrilled to produce a show of this caliber in Coral Springs," says festival promoter Howard Alan. "Our shows offer festival goers and art enthusiasts the opportunity to meet many different artists and explore their work all in one venue."
The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. Prices range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.
