Copper Sky Journeys Eliminates Fire Risk At Kumbh Mela With Unique Accommodation In February 2013
Boutique Indian travel company offers two new specialist tours to de-risk visits to the Kumbh Mela with unique wood and concrete based accommodation unit; Also includes unique touches like visits to traditional priests' arena and local Hindu scholar.
- (1888PressRelease) August 08, 2012 - Copper Sky Journeys is introducing tours for photographers and other travellers with hotel-like, fire-proof, theft-proof, weather protected and fully serviced accommodation for the upcoming edition of the Kumbh Mela 2013, the largest gathering of humanity in the world. This is the first time that travellers to the Kumbh will have access to these facilities even as they stay right on the riverside where all the action of the festival will unfold.
With over 110 million attendees to the Kumbh Mela staying largely in temporary shelters and tents packed together, the risk of fire remains very high. Keeping this in mind, Copper Sky Journeys has tied up with Prayag Heritage to offer fire-proof living units to its guests on its guaranteed fixed departure and private tours. These units are made out of a composite of wood and concrete making them lightweight but durable and capable of handling high temperatures.
"The step to provide fire-proof and weather protected living units for the Kumbh Mela tours is keeping in line with our objective of offering the best in class facilities and safety features to our guests", said Abhimanyu, Managing Director of Copper Sky Journeys. He also said that, "these tours will also incorporate other unique features like visits to an akhara (sect of saints), visits to the shamsana ghat (cremation ground) and interaction with a local scholar for better understanding of the philosophy and mythology behind the Kumbh Mela."
The accommodation units used by Copper Sky Journeys will be lockable so guests, especially photographers coming for the Photo Tour, can safely keep their valuables in their rooms. The thickness of the walls will provide strong insulation from the February cold. The units will have electricity with backup, running hot and cold water supply and unlimited internet access. The entire camp will be monitored through close circuit television cameras. There is first aid available at the camp and there is doctor available on call. There is even a spa, if your feet feel tired after the day spent on the ghats (riverbank) of the Ganges.
Copper Sky Journeys is offering 2 fixed departure tours for the Kumbh Mela. The 5 day tour from February 12 - 18, 2013 is expected to be a great introduction tour to the Kumbh Mela as well as for those who do not have more than a week to spare. The 10 day photography tour from February 3 - 13, 2013 is specially made for amateur and professional photographers with sufficient time and space provided to capture the best images.
