Copernicus Group IRB Named Finalist for 2010 ACE Awards
Institutional Review Board Receives Recognition from Technology Magazine
- Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill, NC-SC (1888PressRelease) July 23, 2010 - Copernicus Group IRB (CGIRB) is pleased to announce that their CGIRB Connexus™ Solution has been named a finalist in the Records Management & Compliance category of the 2010 ACE Awards.
The ACE Awards, presented by ECM Connection magazine, are designed to honor the vendors and solutions providers that have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help their clients achieve the best results possible from their ECM implementations.
Copernicus was nominated for their partnership with Sitrof Technologies. Together they transformed CGIRB into a paperless operation to improve efficiency, reduce the need for paper (for cost, storage and environmental reasons) and, most of all, to improve their quality and competitive advantage. The paperless endeavor involved a massive legacy document scanning operation, including 1.5 million legacy documents totaling 5 million images, as well as all internal documents and all inbound paper and electronic documents while maintaining FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
This installation is worthy of the 2010 ACE Award because of the level of collaboration, the best-of-breed solution implemented over time and the commitment to excellence by both parties involved.
"This project was extremely successful," said Bruce Tomason, CEO of CGIRB. "Sitrof helped CGIRB eliminate the 22 feet of paper we were processing weekly and gave us a remarkably greener footprint. Closely following our ISO 9001 certification, Connexus enables us and our clients to work more efficiently with the highest level of quality as we review clinical studies." Connexus, a state-of-the-art electronic eDocument Management solution for IRB submissions, tracking and reporting, will be available to all CGIRB clients starting in Q3.
The ACE Award winners will be announced in the September issue of ECM Connection magazine along with a featured story.
