Continued Mining Exploration in Sonora August 27, 2011
Rome's next project in this area will be the La Colorada - Esmeralda Project because this area has three defined gold belts.
- (1888PressRelease) August 31, 2011 - A visit was made this week to Rome's La Colorada Property that surrounds the well-known La Colorada Gold Mine that is being reactivated by Argonaut Mining Inc. Rome's next project in this area will be the La Colorada - Esmeralda Project because this area has three defined gold belts with drill-ready gold targets identified by numerous old workings, detailed soil geochemical gold anomalies, geological mapping and geophysics (News Release #8 Nov. 23, 2009). However, tracks to facilitate the placement of the drill must be made with a bulldozer.
To do this work Rome needs: (i) field identification of the best drill sites, (ii) approval of access from owners with the surface rights, and (iii) SEMARNAT government environmental approval for access roads, bulldozer tracks and drilling. All drilling is in oxidized cap rock. Black manganese rich sections are rich in silver. Red hematite-jarosite cap generally has more gold than silver-especially where quartz veining occurs. The silver and gold is expected to be heap-leachable.
Next week Godwin will be working from Vancouver. Alvarez will maintain organization of all activities out of Hermosillo, Mexico.
