Consumers for Health Choice appoint Fox Communications to create an integrated campaign against renewed EU threat to supplements
Press release to announce the appointment of Fox Communications by Consumer for Health Choice in relation to a campaign titled Save Our Supplements. The campaign is in response to renewed legislation threats from the EU to set maximum permitted level's (MPL's) in vitamin and mineral supplements.
- (1888PressRelease) March 07, 2013 - Marketing agency Fox Communications has been appointed to create and deliver an integrated marketing campaign known as 'Save Our Supplements' (SOS) for independent consumer group Consumers for Health Choice. The campaign is in response to renewed legislation threats from the EU to set maximum permitted level's (MPL's) in vitamin and mineral supplements.
Consumers for Health Choice (CHC), is the accepted 'voice of the consumer' on natural health issues. With over 275,000 supporters, CHC works closely with retailers, nutritionists, health practitioners, sports & fitness advisers and specialist supplement manufacturers to defend freedom of choice in health matters. Latest EU developments have put the issue of MPL's for nutrients in vitamin and mineral dietary food supplements firmly back on the political agenda. CHC also believes the legislation could cost the British natural foods industry thousands of jobs.
In response to this threat, Fox Communications has been commissioned to launch a brand new integrated Save Our Supplements (SOS) campaign, to draw attention to the issue and to encourage people to sign a petition against the directive and put pressure on their local MP and MEPs to take action.
The co-ordinated activities includes a brand new website, online and email marketing, a Facebook, Twitter and YouTube social media campaign, PR/media relations and in-store display marketing to be exhibited in independent health food shops and all 620 Holland & Barrett stores nationwide.
The hub of the whole campaign can be found at www.saveoursupplements.org.uk which focuses on the high visibility online petition and new tagline; 'It's in Your Hands'.
The SOS campaign is supported by a large number of cross party MPs including Marcus Jones (Con), Kate Hoey (Lab) and Dr John Pugh (Lib Dem) plus a host of high profile celebrities including Sir Paul McCartney and Jenny Seagrove who have long lobbied for UK market freedom around higher range supplement dosage.
Sue Croft Director at CHC said:
"When we were looking for an agency to work with, these guys bowled us over. They're bursting with ideas and they really know how new media works; they combine that with incredible creativity. They are experts in the areas that we aren't - so they've brought great things to our campaign, and we are really proud of what they've done."
Fox Communications Director, Nelson McConnell, commented:
"Causes such as Save Our Supplements can be taken to the next level through intelligent use of online marketing. We've ensured that the message is spread far and wide as efficiently as possible and we believe that this is going to be a highly successful campaign for CHC".
