Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia Hear from the State's Political Candidates

COAG's Fall Conference remains focused on professional training and education. End Quote

Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) September 05, 2013 - Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia (COAG) members meet annually for State-mandated education and training. At this year's conference, a number of statewide candidates that are up for election this fall will be sharing their vision for Georgia to this distinguished group. COAG's Fall Conference mainly focused on professional training will be held from October 7 - 10 in Savannah and host speakers such Judge Eddie Hulsey, President of COAG, with introductory comments from Ambassador Andrew Young.

Consisting of elected community leaders that include probate judges, superior court clerks, tax commissioners and sheriffs from Georgia's 159 counties, COAG is a non-profit state association that empowers its members to better serve Georgia citizens at the county level. These elected constitutional officers are responsible for enforcing policy voted on by the Governor's office, the Senate and the House of Representatives.

"COAG serves as a powerbase of local leaders that makes a significant impact on consumer opinion and public policy," said Hon. Eddie Hulsey, a Haralson County probate judge who also serves as COAG's president. "Our goal is to create a platform for engaging incumbents and candidates in dialogue related to 'on the ground' issues of the state in the areas in which we live and have influence."

Ambassador Young will open the non-partisan Candidates' Forum on October 9. This will be a time for each announced candidate for statewide office to outline their vision for the future of the State.

As part of the State-mandated education and training for all COAG members, attendees will receive updates and training on the latest State Legislative changes from this past session. Classes include how to understand any rule and code revisions, as well as learning how to interpret and apply them. Attendees will also have an opportunity to earn continuing education credits towards certifications, as well as best practices from each other to bring efficiencies to their office for the citizens of their county.
