Seniors Can Now Have Access to 24/7 Expert Health Advice.

Seniors who are part of the program will now have 24/7 access to expert health advice from Ask Mayo Clinic registered nurses. This additional service further enriches the Connected for Life online program which breaks down longstanding barriers to technology use by seniors and helps families stay in touch, monitor, and assist older family members who desire to live healthier and longer at home.

Ask Mayo Clinic nurse line provides convenient and quick access by phone to reliable health information that can reduce unnecessary emergency room, urgent care or primary care physician visits. In addition, Ask Mayo Clinic nurses can help determine if a situation requires an immediate medical attention. Callers can speak to registered nurses 24 hours a day 7 days a week to answer questions and offer reliable health information to help people make better informed health care decisions. Additionally, the nurses help to facilitate more appropriate utilization of health care resources.
The Connected for Life program will feature the symptom triage service of Ask Mayo Clinic nurse line that provides moment-of-need access and reassurance to assist callers with making health care decisions. Registered nurses are available to answer health questions both large and small, provide reliable information and guide the caller to the appropriate level of treatment from self-care to seeking medical treatment.
For an introductory period, Ask Mayo Clinic nurse line will be offered at no cost with membership in the Connected for Life program. After the first three months, Ask Mayo Clinic nurse line will cost $5 per month per family in addition to the $39.95 base monthly fee for the Connected for Life program.
