- (1888PressRelease) May 21, 2011 - Connect925, the network for business women in Aberdeen, are holding a pub quiz in support of Monty's Maggie's Appeal at The Office on 31st May 2011.
Connect have nominated Monty's Maggie's Appeal as their Charity for 2011. Aberdeen is the only Scottish city without a Maggie's cancer centre. The centres provide much needed support to both sufferers and their families. Under one roof you can access help with information, benefits advice, and psychological support both individually and in groups, courses and stress reducing strategies. The centre's are there for anybody who feels the need for help, which includes those who love and look after someone with cancer, who often feel as frightened and vulnerable as those who actually have the disease. A total of £3 million needs to be raised to open the centre which will be built in the grounds of Foresterhill Hospital.
President of Connect925, Holly McDonald, says that they are delighted to be supporting the Monty's Maggie's Appeal. "It would be a great boost to cancer care in the City and with one in three of us being affected by cancer it will touch all of our lives in some form or another."
The event at The Office is open to teams of four and costs £20 per team. The quiz kicks off at 7pm and is open to everyone. Complimentary buffet and great raffle prizes! To book or for further information please visit www.connect925.co.uk
