Go Skate is one of America's largest providers of skateboard instruction. Since 2009, http://www.goskate.com has provided nationwide instruction through over 5,000 pros. During free skate lesson week, students may book a free skate lesson with GoSkate.com during this week anywhere in America.
Skateboarding has grown exponentially since Tony Hawk landed the 900 in 1999. After suffering a very slow growth in the eighties, the late-nineties became skateboarding's golden years.
Skateboarding has enjoyed popularity up through today. There are more public skateboard parks than ever. Currently, there are over 2,600 public skate parks in North America. Hundreds of cities are currently going through the process of getting skate parks built.
Go Skate School wants help the surge in popularity by helping people learn. Free lessons will be given in a 1-on-1 or class setting at most skateparks in North America.
Free skate lessons to this scale has never been attempted ever before. Availability is subject to location and instructor schedule. A liability release waiver must be signed by the 7th in order to qualify for the free lesson. Lessons booked January 2-7th must be scheduled within 60 days. Lessons will start after this window. Lessons at private parks are subject to availability, park rules, and park fees. Public parks and driveway lessons are available at no cost.
To be eligible for the free lessons, one must be an United States citizen. Each family is eligible to claim one (1) free skateboard lesson with a Go Skate Certified teacher. Minors must have their parent or legal guardian (21 years old and up) authorize sign up. The free lessons service all abilities, and ages four and up.
Lessons will teach people of all ages how to skate. Transportation basics and safety are said to be the cornerstone of the lessons. Skateboarders must wear a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads. Equipment rental packages are available for a fee. Lessons will be complimentary to all.
