Compass Hospitality and Taylor's University Launch an Innovative General Manager Programme
Compass Hospitality has teamed up with Taylor's University to launch the General Manager "GeM" Programme for students pursuing the 3-year Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (Honours) programme.
- (1888PressRelease) April 23, 2013 - The GeM programme is a comprehensive management and leadership course that focuses on identifying the key competencies of an effective General Manager in a hotel.
Mr. Harmil Singh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Compass Hospitality claims that "Compass Hospitality has always been supportive of educational and training initiatives in the hospitality industry, and over the years, our Compass Scholarship Foundation has been transforming such initiatives into reality for many students and adults. The GeM programme is a collaboration between Compass and Taylor's University to improve the knowledge of participants so that they can effectively deal with new market challenges as well as raise the bar of hospitality standards and performance in their service to customers."
The programme involves classroom teaching as well as hands on training so that participants can apply their knowledge to handle real life situations. The practical aspect of the programme will build up the self-confidence and competence in the participants. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be offered full-time employment opportunities in the role of a hotel executive in a Compass managed property.
