Community Joins Together in Home Addition/Renovation for Wounded Marine, LCpl. Colin Pascik

Building industry bands together to donate labor and materials to the renovation on a wounded Marine's home. End Quote

(1888PressRelease) August 25, 2011 - Coastal and LaPolla were among those who donated labor, materials, and time to the renovation of a residence for LCpl. Colin Pascik, a Marine who was injured during his time in Afghanistan.

One month after being deployed, LCpl. Pascik was hit by a pressure plate improved explosive device (IED), taking both his legs and damaging his left arm. He is now learning to walk on prosthetic legs at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The support he gets from family and friends contributes to his uplifting attitude, and drives him to overcome such a damaging hardship.

His house is being renovated to add an apartment, which will meet 2011 energy codes, as well as being as cost- and energy-efficient as possible. The tentative ready date is September 17, 2011, when a ceremony will be held to turn the house over to LCpl. Pascik.

The men and women of the United States Armed Forces have dedicated their lives to protecting the lives of others. Some return home to find their lives forever changed. They shouldn't have to ask for help. The building industry has stepped up in an effort to give back to those who have given so much. More help is needed.
