Community Access Unlimited (CAU) Latest Building Piques National Interest
Creating opportunities for all to live within an integrated community.

For the past few years the national trend has focused on multi-use buildings which offer a combination of residential, commercial and medical units. Also key is access to public transportation, eateries, urban or suburban settings, energy-efficient appliances and overall attractive design and affordability.
This past September, Community Access Unlimited (CAU), celebrated the grand opening of its newest property, Fanwood-a mixed-use community in Fanwood, N.J. - which caught the eye of Multifamily Executive. The building features 10 units spread among three levels for individuals with or without disabilities, many in need of affordable housing. Even with the reasonably priced rents being collected, every apartment includes universal, barrier-free designs; Energy Star appliances and heating units; and sensory thermostats.
Even more important, is Sid Blanchard, CAU's Executive Director, has remained true to his organization's mission: the incorporation of residences for those who have developmental disabilities and low incomes with those who do not.
