Destructo Co's online scavenger hunt benefits The Hero Initiative and the winner bags 12 FREE comic book subscriptions.
(1888PressRelease) December 02, 2008 - CHICAGO – Today, Destructo Co. begins a countdown to its first ComiXmas charity event, an online scavenger hunt to benefit The Hero Initiative (Hero), a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping comic book creators in need. The 24-hour event starts Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at noon (CST) and ends on Dec. 14, 2008 at noon.
Destructo Co. is encouraging the comic book community to participate in the scavenger hunt; collecting images and answers to twelve clues to win the grand prize of 12 comic book subscriptions. In turn, one of the items participants must supply is proof of their donation to The Hero Initiative in the amount of at least $1. The first person to submit the most correct answers by the end date and time wins the grand prize.
“Our intention is to raise awareness and funds for The Hero Initiative, one of our favorite charities,” said Destructo Co. Editor in Chief Justin Langenberg (a.k.a. Mr. Stratford). “Comic books give readers endless hours of entertainment and inspiration, and Hero provides help to the creators of these comics when they need it. ComiXmas connects our readers to a charity whose cause we all strongly believe in.”
