Comedy Web Series ASSISTED LIVING Turns 50
Comedy web series ASSISTED LIVING created by David J. Miller and staring Dustin White celebrates the release of its' 50th episode on KoldCast.tv .
- (1888PressRelease) March 13, 2011 - The popular web series ASSISTED LIVING celebrates it's 50th episode, Tuesday 3/15/11. The series is about an aspiring comedian and has been 2011's number 1 show on KoldCast.tv which has been in its' distribution partner since the third season.
Created by David J. Miller and starring Dustin White as "Dustin" the show chronicles the ups and downs of an aspiring comedian meandering from one awkward situation to another. "We feel like 50 episodes (and counting) is a significant accomplishment in the world of narrative web series'." says Miller. "Both Dustin and I enjoy creating new scenarios for the characters and have a lot of fun with the show. At the end of each season we would take a break not sure if we were going to continue with the show but a few months later we would think of new ideas for the cast."
"Being the #1 show on KoldCast.tv recently has also exposed us to a large audience and the feedback we get from fans is terrific. They like the mature comedy and dry sense of humor that is hard to find in traditional media." says White
The show evolved from Dustin's character being an outcast having zero social skills in Season 1, to him becoming a stand-up comedian at a burlesque show in season 3, to him being discovered by an agent and getting a chance to act on the big screen in the current season (6). Episode 50 finds the character auditioning for a movie role with a sexy agent who subjects him to the casting couch.
The series is filmed entirely on location in Chicago and uses a combination of professional actors and comedians from venues such as Second City. It often has mature themes and occasional partial nudity, which the male demographic seems to respond to.
The show is written & directed by David J. Miller of ViralFilmVideo.com who had previously produced low budget feature films. "I enjoy producing feature films but directing and writing is my passion and ASSISTED LIVING has been the perfect vehicle for me to learn without the pressure of a larger scale production." Miller's previous series PITCHMAN has had over 10 million views and was a successful integrated campaign for an internet dating website. He's currently putting the finishing touches on his new series HEY GIRL and hoping to sign with an agent while he develops new projects.
KoldCast.tv has been a great distribution partner for ASSISTED LIVING . "We wouldn't be where we are today as a show without everyone at KoldCast. They gave us the chance to find an audience so we could focus our energies on developing new episodes and storylines." says Miller. "We've been fortunate to have been able to make money with the series which has allowed us keep making new episodes."
