Combine Baseball With Physics And Increase Your Batting Power With The Hitting Knob
The Hitting Knob will benefit players of all ages and playing levels both in baseball and softball.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2013 - The Hitting Knob can be used in every aspect of the training, on deck circle, tee work and soft toss or, its most unique purpose, during live batting practice, which simulates the most authentic hitting experience. The body and mind react differently to a ball in motion (being delivered/pitched) opposed to a stationary ball (tee work). The Hitting Knob differentiates itself from other hitting aides on the market today by its placement on the bat, creating increased bat speed, while being able to use during a live hitting experience.
The Hitting Knob uses fundamentals of physics to teach players proper hitting mechanics while maximizing both power and bat speed.Pipe fitter by day and inventor by night, Tim Brown's passion for baseball has been a life-long obsession, which has now lead him to develop the Hitting Knob.
Being a player and a coach, Tim was inspired to find a solution after reading several articles addressing the fact that studies have shown adding weight (donut, sleeve, etc.) to the barrel of a baseball/softball bat actually decreases the hitters bat speed once the weight was removed. Tim was inspired to find a solution, so he went into his garage where he likes to tinker and invent. Tim went through many iterations, the first few prototypes were cobbled together from pipe fittings, rubber couplings and band sawed barbell ends to test his theory.
Machine and welded prototypes were manufactured and sent out to Tim's friends playing Major League Baseball for their opinions. The Big League players liked the Hitting Knob so much he never got them back.
Tim has joined forces with Dr. Danny Codd, PhD, PE and Douglas Gore to assist him in taking his idea through the research and development cycle into commercialization. Hundreds of hours have been spent designing and working out production.
Dr. Codd has been responsible for designing high-volume consumer products, industrial equipment and medical devices. Dr. Codd received his BSME, summa cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego and his MSME from Stanford University and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at MIT.
Gore has taken napkin ideas through the development process through manufacturing into commercialization. Some of his products include: Banana Tree®, Magnetized Soap Cup, Write-On Right Off™, Nail SavR™, LED products and disposable medical products.
Patents have been filed. 100% American designed and manufactured product. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/354193674/the-hitting-knob-maximize-your-swing and www.hittingknob.com.
