Colts' Antoine Bethea Kicks Off Busy Week Of Giving Back With Safe Coverage Foundation's Holiday Dinner & NFL Play 60 Program
Indianapolis Colts' 2X Pro Bowler, Antoine Bethea treats local youth to early holiday dinner through his Safe Coverage Foundation's Holiday Dinner and visits students with NFL Play 60 Program.
- Indianapolis, IN (1888PressRelease) December 07, 2011 - Colts' 2X Pro Bowler Antoine Bethea treated a group of deserving Indianapolis Metropolitan High School students to the inaugural Safe Coverage Foundation holiday dinner celebration. While the group enjoyed Harry & Izzy's famous shrimp cocktail and steak, Antoine stressed the importance of their education and staying on track.
Many of the exceptional students are part of the Young Man's Leadership Academy at Indy Met, a charter high school known for its "Personal Learning" focus. Bethea, who made education central to his foundation's mission, is a fan of Indy Met's individual learning plans and creative teaching strategies. Aadvanced Limos chauffeured attendees to dinner where they enjoyed a fine dining experience and received early Christmas gifts.
Antoine continued to encourage and reward students on Wednesday morning when he visited Paramount School of Excellence, a designated NFL Play 60 super school. As the official Colts' representative for the program, he presented the school with a $10,000 grant and taught the "Ultimate NFL Physical Education Class". Antoine's mother also joined in on the special day, and gave parents great tips on youth health and wellness.
"I have been fortunate to have some great mentors in my life", said Bethea, "Because of that I make sure that I take every opportunity I can to speak to kids about education and healthy living. I'm committed to encouraging kids to be the best in all areas of their lives."
