Lebanon Chapel at Airlie Gardens was originally built in the 1830's by Dr. Thomas Henry Wright to serve St. James parishioners who lived on the eastern side of Wilmington, near Wrightsville Beach. At the time, the land where the chapel was built was known as "Mount Lebanon" and the property is now part of the New Hanover County Parks System and is called Airlie Gardens Regular services ceased at Lebanon Chapel when St. Andrews on-the-Sound was constructed in 1923. In 1974, the abandoned Lebanon Chapel was restored and it is currently used by Saint James Episcopal Church for summer services, special services throughout the year, and as a rental for wedding ceremonies. Colour Solutions Custom Painting was proud to be entrusted to paint the chapel in 2010 to help ensure its continued use as well as maintain a local historic structure.
Daniel Joye, owner of Colour Solutions Custom Painting remarks: "Our work on the Lebanon Chapel in Airlie Gardens was an exciting project. As a life-long Wilmington resident, I was personally interested in taking on this task and contributing to the historic value of the chapel and our region. We understood what an important job this was not only for Saint James Parish, but for Airlie Gardens, and the residents and visitors of Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach."
