The three-day exhibition was exciting in terms of atmosphere, trading volume and concurrent activities.
The exhibition area reached 18,500 square meters, and attracted a total of 460 exhibitors from different countries and regions, including P.R.China, Hong Kong, Taiwan Province, Portugal, Russia, Thailand, etc. The exhibition was well classified into Shoes Zone, Material, Leather and Accessories Zone and Shoe Machinery Zone. The exhibition also received strong support from industry associations which organized groups to participate, including Hong Kong Footwear Association, Dongguan Shoe Materials Association, Taiwan Shoe-making Machinery Association, and Dongguan Shoe-making Machinery Association etc.
The exhibition attracted a total of 14,879 professional buyers and visitors from 80 countries and regions, including the U.S., Japan, Malaysia, Russia, Italy, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand and other countries and regions. Among all, the increase of visitors from India, Pakistan, Peru, other Middle East and South America countries was significant. Overseas buyers and visitors accounted for about 20% of overall visitors, including Brazil buyer group organized by China (Brazil) Investment Development & Trade Centre. In addition, the exhibition also welcomed buyer groups organized by a famous web media in China, HC360.com. Over 20 enterprises including Juri, Mesuca, and Propet visited the exhibition and joined the business matching onsite to meet with exhibitors. Positive evaluation from exhibitors
The exhibition accommodated 460 exhibitors. Many of the exhibitors attended the exhibition for years, recognizing and affirming the business opportunities of the show. Official of Be Me Company Limited, engaged in women's fashion leather shoes, said that the quality of buyers this year was quite good. He met many buyers from South America and the result was rewarding. Ms. Deng from Shanghai Mallorca Co., Ltd, operating sheepskin boots, expressed satisfaction with the exhibition too. The company received an order for 10,000 pairs of shoes from a North American visitor, and she was pleased to meet some Australian buyers during the exhibition. "The buyer's quality of Dongguan China Shoes is high," she praised. Colombian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce participated for the first time to promote its Columbia Brands and other leather shoes, bags and decorative products, and received a number of buyer inquiries with intention to introduce the Colombian products to China; many of the buyers are well-known international brands such as H & M, etc. Mr. Andres, the Executive Director, said the participation was rewarding, and he intended to organize a pavilion in coming edition. Mr. Zhang, person in charge of Leather Manufacturer Leatherworks from the U.S., said that the company met many high-quality buyers during the show, and the exhibiting result was more encouraging than ever. Colorful concurrent events highlight the excellent quality
Dongguan China Shoes' popular activity - fashion show was "reborn" in a more innovative way in this edition and was broadly acclaimed! The brand-new T-stage set, a closed-door theater setting, and extra large screen, with theme "Find True Love", offered a new insight to audiences through the excellent performances of professional models and the brand displays.
The exhibition exclusively played the Germany GDS 2010 fashion show video, presenting the first-hand European fashion trend to all visitors. Themes included "Trend Show for 2011 Spring & Summer", "Upper Style", "Wellness - Easy to go", and "Urban Fashion and Kids", etc.
Another highlight of autumn edition was the power of new design. The organizer launched an array of trendy forums themed on "New Design for Seeking True Business Opportunities", inviting Y-Trends, the design consultant agency of GDS, to hold five releases focusing on various themes. Apart from the topics related to children footwear, young fashion and sneakers, etc., Y-Trends specially presented topics on "Footwear Design Management and Chinese Elements in Design" and shared its 20-years expertise at "Sustainable and Fair Trade Footwear". Concurrently, there was "Global Trends Analysis AW 2011/12 & Retail Overview" given by world's fashion trend forecasting authority WGSN. At the release, WGSN's fashion experts gave an exclusive interpretation of the world's men's and women's footwear trends analysis in AW 2010/11, key trends in SS 2011, and explained the trends of fashion retail as well as other market factors to respond to the requirements of the rapid change in fashion industry. These seminars recorded more than 350 professional buyers to attend.
The organizers also invited Mr. Zhang Baoguo, expert of the National Strategic Leading Group for Intellectual Property and Director of China Trademark Association, to make a special lecture on brand and intellectual property for Chinese shoe-making enterprises that pay heed to the brand development. Moreover, the General Manager of France CTC Group GCR delivered a talk on REACH and Finished Products (Footwear).
