Janet Loren, CBRG, Guides Students On How To Choose The Right College for Success.
- (1888PressRelease) July 07, 2017 - Roseland, New Jersey – This is the time of year when families and students alike are considering the best college for the success of the student. Janet Loren, Partner and Certified Educational Planner (CEP), College Benefits Research Group (CBRG), uses her knowledge to shed light on how the right environment positions the student to excel in their college career.
In a recent NJBIZ article, "Triple Play: 3 things to consider when choosing the best college for successful students,” Loren provides three tips to think about when choosing which college is best for that specific student. Conventional thinking is to attend the best school that accepts you; yet many students are finding greater success in graduating from a less selective university than if they had they attended an elite institution. Loren states, “It is better to attend a school where students are placed in the top 10 percentile of their class, rather than in the bottom percent at an elite institution.”
She continues, “Recruiters look for students who excel in their college career, get involved in activities, publish research, etc. It is tough to do that when you are struggling just to keep your grades up.”
