Sacramento, CA (1888PressRelease) November 08, 2012 - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the leading provider of real estate services in Northern California, has become an official sponsor of the 2012 California International Marathon on December 2 and is inviting the community to "The Party at the Wall" event during the race.

"The Party at the Wall" will take place at the 20-mile mark of the race in front of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's Sacramento-Sierra Oaks office at 440 Drake Circle beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2. The event is free of charge and will include music, food, drinks and giveaways for all attendees as they cheer on the passing runners.

Kris Vogt, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and a veteran marathon runner himself, is organizing the event as well as participating as one of the runners in this year's California International Marathon.

"The Party at the Wall" was coined because marathon runners often talk about "hitting a wall" at the 20-mile mark in a race. Vogt said he hopes to have as many as a thousand or more party attendees to cheer on tired runners all along the 20-mile mark, an area Coldwell Banker has coined "The Blue Mile" in honor of its navy blue colors and logo.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the CIM, which was founded in 1983 by the Sacramento Running Association and brought a world-class running event to the Sacramento area.

The course, which begins in Folsom, provides runners with a very fast, point-to-point, net-downhill marathon with a spectacular finish in front of the California State Capitol. The CIM is certified and sanctioned by the USA Track & Field Association and is a Boston Marathon qualifier and an Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier.
