Cofounder of Africa's Largest Social Network Chidi Nwaogu Resigns As Co-CEO Due to Health Issues
Chidi Nwaogu, Co-founder, Co-CEO and Co-President at LAGbook, Inc. announced in an email sent earlier today to the team that effective today he resigns as Co-CEO and Co-President at LAGbook due to health issues.
- (1888PressRelease) September 19, 2012 - LAGbook's Co-founder and Co-CEO, Chidi Nwaogu today announced he has resigned from the positions of CEO and Presidency effective today due to issues surrounding his recent bad sight as a result of extensive usage of the computer since 2010. Before today, Chidi Nwaogu has acted as one of the key ingredients and catalysts for the growth and development of the African Social Networking Giant since its inception in 2010.
According to Chidi, "Since the inception of LAGbook, I have compulsorily used a computer system for a minimum of 20 hours everyday and this has been the case for over two years now." "According to my doctor, the rays from the computers I've used since the past two years have caused a great deal of damage to my vision. My sight is progressively diminishing, and I've to discontinue regular use of the computer." Chidi continued.
"Being a CEO or President of a internet company requires the regular use of a computer. I don't want to share a position that I contribute very little to, so I've decided to resign from my position as Co-CEO and Co-President at LAGbook immediately and indefinitely." said Chidi Nwaogu. "I may return back to my position if my sight recovers, but for now, my days as Co-CEO is over."
Chika Nwaogu effective today assumes full position as LAGbook's CEO and President, and Chidi remains with the company as its first Executive Advisor. According to Chika Nwaogu, "Chidi still remains with us as an Executive Advisor. During the past years, he has contributed immensely to the growth and development of LAGbook, and equally gained expert knowledge in the field of Social Media." Chika continued, "Having him as our Executive Advisor is a big honor to the company."
"Chidi's stakes at LAGbook remains unchanged. He still owns over 49.5% of the company, and still an Executive. The only thing that will change is his regular administrative activities at LAGbook. At anytime, his advises is welcomed with utmost respect." said Chika Nwaogu. "I would have decided to remain as Co-CEO, but I don't want to be a liability. I don't want to ask for every little information or data I need. I want to see and do things for myself, and that requires using the computer regularly, which I clearly should discontinue." said Chidi Nwaogu.
