- Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) May 31, 2012 - All Urology roads lead to Florida by December 2012 as CODINGCON ( ( @ ) CODINGCON) 2012, the 5th Annual 2013 Medical Coding Update and Reimbursement Conference as Coding Conferences, LLC sealed the return of Urology expert Michael Ferragamo, MD, FACS as well as other industry leaders to the multi-specialty conference which gathers practice managers, coders, billers, physicians, healthcare consultants and many other healthcare professionals dot
CODINGCON is at the forefront of providing education and information to enable practitioners to code more accurately, speed up healthcare reimbursements, stay in compliance and decrease or possibly eliminate financial loss in their practice.
Urology is just one of the ten (10) specialty tracks present at this year's medical coding update and reimbursement conference include: Anesthesia, Ambulatory Surgery, Billing and Collection, Ob-Gyn, Orthopaedics, Otolaryngology, Pain Management, Pathology and Clinical Lab, Pediatrics and Urology.
Dr. Ferragamo is the Senior Urologist with Urocare Associates of New York, a six person private urological practice for which he oversees coding and reimbursement issues. He is a consultant for the Physicians Reimbursement Systems, Denver, Colorado, the America Association of Professional Coders as well as a coding consultant for a number of private practices, medical institutions, clinics, and hospitals including The Lahey Clinic, The Mayo Clinic, Urology Department, Jacksonville, Florida, Arizona Health Science Center, Tucson, Arizona, Section of Urology, State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, and the Brookdale Medical Center Campus, Concord Hospital Center for Urological care, McKay Urology, Charlotte, North Carolina, New York University, Department of Urology, New York City, New York, and University Urology at Stony Brook, New York.
In addition, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at the State University of New York, University Hospital and School of Medicine at Stony Brook, Long Island, New York.
A primary reason why Dr. Ferragamo has included the session, "Coding for Stone Surgery" to the Urology Agenda is that the treatment of urinary stone disease and urinary stone fragmentation or litholopaxy continues to be a large part of many urological practices. As such, in this session, the many technologies used today in urology for stone disease treatments will be reviewed with their proper coding and billing. The treatment of both upper tract stones and lower tract stones at the same time will be visited for proper coding.
Dr. Ferragamo adds, "The size of the stones, their mutiplicity, and location are necessary documentation items that will change the coding of their treatments. This will be explained clearly. PCNLand other stone fragmentation technology including laser treatment of stones will be reviewed along with their proper coding to enable urologists to obtain correct and entitled reimbursements."
Other sessions to be facilitated by Dr. Ferragamo include, "Correct Modifier Use in Urology", "Urogynecology for the Urologist", "Coding for the Use of Intestines in Urology", "Coding for Multiple Urological Procedures Performed by One or Two Surgeons" and "Coding for Common and not so Common Urological Procedures"
