Code Changes Announced for CPT 2013 Revealing Latest Care Advancements
The updated 2013 CPT codes, effective Jan. 1, will now let physicians to report advancements in health care services which will also include new molecular tests and care coordination.

The expansion is basically due to the advancements in medical understanding of and testing for the molecular basis of disease, including the Human Genome Project. The 2013 codes for medical billing include 116 for molecular pathology.
