Coach & Equipment Wins Bid for Business in Atlanta
Coach & Equipment, based in Penn Yann, NY, has won a bid with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority and will add 93 paratransit buses to their fleet.
- Rochester, NY (1888PressRelease) October 30, 2013 - Coach & Equipment, a small-to-midsize bus manufacturer based in Penn Yan, NY, is excited to announce it has won a contract to build 93 paratransit busses for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), one of the largest transit fleets in the South East.
Coach & Equipment is replacing MARTA's 2006 model-year busses that have an excess of 300,000 miles. Under this contract, Coach will replace almost half of the 186-vehicle fleet with new busses that have been custom-built with features that enhance comfort, performance, and durability.

58 of the new busses have been manufactured, issued to MARTA, and are now in use. Coach & Equipment expects to ship the remaining 35 busses within the next 4-6 weeks.
