Cni Uk Sign New Offsetting Contract With Vogue Italia
Having previously made a huge impact offsetting the fashion publication L'Uomo Vogue, CNI UK has built on its relationship with Vogue offsetting what is arguably its headline publication, Vogue Italia.
- (1888PressRelease) October 31, 2013 - Vogue Italia is the Italian edition of Vogue magazine, owned by the publication giant Condé Nast International.
Vogue believes in responsible publishing and sought to demonstrate leadership by taking responsibility for its carbon footprint, encompassing the whole life cycle of each magazine, including all aspects of its supply chain over which it has no control, such as the extraction of raw material from the ground, continuing with the production of paper, printing, distribution and end with the pulping.
To achieve this Vogue looked to CNI UK, a leading provider in the voluntary carbon offset market, operating across multiple sectors assisting organisations in becoming carbon neutral. The addition of this new client builds upon CNI UKs blue chip client base and entrenches another relationship with a prominent global brand.
Franca Sozzani, Editor-In-Chief of Vogue Italia, states, "Vogue Italia has always been committed to deal with in depth and authoritative current affairs and we believe it is time to engage in a more concrete way to protect the environment. The issue of carbon neutrality is a clear step and one that we approach with great passion".
Vogue Italia have chosen to invest in a portfolio of credits including REDD (reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation) credits due to the extraordinary range of benefit "cascades" they provide to the local environment and the community.
Edward Carlton, Managing Director of CNI UK said, "CNI UK is extremely proud to be working with a publication of the calibre of Vogue Italia, and their commitment will have a huge positive impact throughout the world of fashion. Not only will the offsetting of each magazine provide immediate environmental benefits through the abatement of harmful GHGs, but Vogue Italias' public campaign of environmental responsibility will provide much needed support and coverage to the wider international sustainability agenda".
