CMS Solutions Founder and CEO Joshua Levey to Present $2,500 Each to The Backstoppers and Responder Rescue
Proceeds from STL Crane Project for Memorial to Fallen First Responders.
- St. Louis, MO-IL (1888PressRelease) September 24, 2013 - For the second year in a row, a flock of one thousand paper cranes created by the STL Crane Project landed on Art Hill in Forest Park. CMS Solutions (CMS) was proud to be the sponsor of this important memorial.
A unique art installation of origami cranes this annual event is gaining visibility and providing much-needed support to The Backstoppers, a greater St. Louis area charity that provides financial and emotional support to the families of first responders who have died while on duty and to Responder Rescue, whose mission is to provide assistance; emotional, tangible or monetary, to any area first responders, who have been injured, become ill or suffered a traumatic situation.
During much of 2013, volunteers from all over St. Louis, folded 1,000, 25" x 42", white origami cranes as a memorial to St. Louis Area Police, Fire and EMS personnel that have fallen in the line of duty. On Tuesday, September 24th 2013, The Backstoppers and Responder Rescue will each be presented with a $2,500 check from the STL Crane Project. The cranes were adopted for $10.00 each to raise these funds.
CMS Solutions, a St. Louis based marketing company, is proud to have sponsored the STL Crane Project for 2013 helping to generate more awareness of the sacrifices of fallen first responders.
Joshua Levey, founder and CEO of CMS Solutions, will present a check to Chief Ron Battelle with The Backstoppers and to Pat Byrne with Responder Rescue. The event will take place at CMS Solutions offices at 2055 Walton Rd. St. Louis, MO 63114 at 9:30 am.
"Obviously, we have somewhat of a Crane Connection," said Levey in reference to the STL Crane Project and the fact that the CMS Solutions logo also includes an origami crane. But it's become so much more than that. "Our joint support of The Backstoppers demonstrates that community and business can and should go hand in hand."

About St. Louis Crane Project
1000 Origami Cranes or Senbazuru has many meanings. For the 2013 STL Crane project they represented a memorial to those who have fallen protecting our community, a pledge to their families and a wish for peace. That installation reminded us of the sacrifices of our first responders and their families.
Legend has it that folding 1000 cranes will cause a wish to come true. Our wish is simple, that our first responders remain safe and that St. Louis never forgets those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The STL Crane Project began in 2012 with a goal of folding 1,000 cranes for adoption. The tradition continued into 2013. These special cranes were made available for adoption at the end of the installation for a $10.00 donation with all proceeds again going to The BackStoppers and Responder Rescue.

Started in 1959 by a group of St. Louis businessmen, The BackStoppers is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to providing needed support and financial assistance to the spouses and children of regional police officers, firefighters, publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs and volunteer fire protection personnel who lost their life performing their duty. Each day, thousands of police officers, firefighters, and EMS workers strive to keep each and every one of us safe. While we often see these men and women as daily heroes, they still face injury, illness and traumatic events; on and off duty. Unfortunately, there is only so much their insurance companies and the departments they work for can do to help. Responder Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 2009 by a St. Louis metro area fire Captain who saw this unmet need.
