Grillo, Esq., member of Carroll McNulty & Kull LLC (CMK ) of New York, recently presented "Addressing the Challenges of Settling a Civil Lawsuit" at the New York State Bar Association's (NYSBA ) "Law School for Insurance Professionals" in Manhattan. Nationally-recognized as a top trial attorney and a NYSBA member, Grillo has more than 20 years of litigation experience including six years as a Kings County Assistant District Attorney.
In his program Grillo detailed the practical considerations of settling a civil lawsuit, including worker's compensation and medical liens, as well as Medicare set aside accounts. In addition, he also discussed new subrogation legislation, limitation of non-statutory reimbursement, and subrogation claims in personal injury and wrongful death actions. Fellow attorneys and members of the judiciary joined Grillo on the faculty of this seminar, which was attended by members of the insurance industry.
In 2008, Grillo joined CMK, which has offices in Manhattan and Basking Ridge, N.J. His diverse practice at CMK includes construction/labor law, products liability, transportation, premises liability, professional liability, commercial litigation and criminal law. A resident of Rockville Centre, N.Y., Grillo has served as a deputy village attorney and prosecutor for his hometown since 2004 and has been a member of the Kings County Civil Law Forum since 2002.
