Client interview- The Sunday Collector Shares Experience with WOODCUT
It is always interesting to talk to designers and decorators about the process of selecting materials and finishes for their own home, and Sydney client Briar Stanley was no different. Having recently moved into her beautifully renovated home, Briar Stanley's unique take on finishing a home has led to an interesting and welcoming interior.
- (1888PressRelease) February 03, 2017 - With the aim of creating a home that is humble, coastal, and clean, the Interior Decorator and Editor of The Sunday Collector blog shares her experience with WOODCUT and selecting the perfect engineered timber floor for her space.
What was the process of picking the perfect engineered oak floor?
After receiving the beautiful box of samples, I visited the gorgeous showroom in Sydney to check out larger pieces of the timbers. I spent a long time with Cassandra who took me through everything, she was really informative, and I actually left with a different floor choice than I originally entered with, so that visit certainly paid off!
Can you tell us a bit about the process of working with WOODCUT?
It was really easy, the team were always available to answer any questions, and I was really impressed with the prompt service. You can tell they really care for their wood products.
What was the style and aesthetic you were aiming for in your home?
A comfortable but humble home with a coastal, clean and breezy vibe.
What difference do you think a beautiful floor makes in a house?
A huge difference - I believe new floors are just as important as a new coat of paint. Both elements have the ability to transform a space immediately. I remember seeing our new floors for the first time and it really was that exciting moment of seeing our house 'come together'.
What tips would you give someone who is in the process of picking a beautiful floor for their home?
Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions - speak to the professionals and take your time with your selections. It's always a good idea to create a concept board where you place all the finishes together, which will help you visualise how your home will finish up.
